You'll be just fine using the standard nose. Only takes a second or two to loosen a set screw and change gravers - but honestly, I probably use the 116 degree Universal parallel point graver/template for high 90% of my engraving. It doesn't sound like you have a need to be changing out gravers as often and rapidly as a bench jeweler plowing through job bags of setting, repairs, and actual engraving. They'll use a number of gravers for a lot of different applications, and if they're already habituated to using a collet system, they feel they "need" to perpetuate this work flow. It's not unreasonable, but I just don't get the sense you're in that demographic. Stop agonizing. You don't need the collet. Pull the trigger and get it ordered. You'll never regret this decision!
