Hey, that came out pretty good!

Check out the Ron Smith books to learn how to do the designs.

It's my understanding that you'll have problems getting the actual item to look right but it'll be close enough that a quick touchup with a graver will do the trick. And even without that it should look pretty nice.

As for getting your gravers polished up right, do you have a sharpening system? Something like the Lindsay template based system will make an amazing difference over sharpening by hand. It won't be as convenient as just grabbing the stone, but you'll get incredibly consistent results. Follow up the 1200 grit stone in the set with some rouge on leather or polishing paper and you can get a great shine on your graver. Just find one of the many, many threads on sharpening for details.
