new to engraving.
Well sorta, I dont have a traditional engraver. I only have a Power carver at this time. I did my shotgun and Sig Sauer. the color on the Sig slide is gold enamel. I have a pin striping back ground, so im into line art. Also is a watch I did for my father in law.

Re: new to engraving.
Bad,no! Actually quite good for rotary carving. However, its not up to the quality of work engraving accomplishes due to the rotory bits dont leave a fine edge or smooth cut that reflects light well. Many engravers would say you have ruined those firearms.I think you show artistic talent and should you pursue engraving I'd bet you'd pick it up quickly.

Re: new to engraving.
Thank you. Do you think if I had a graver, I could go back over those lines to clean them up? I'm trying to figure a way to buy a palm control set up so I can do nice engraving. I see all the work done here and I am so inspired.

Re: new to engraving.
Many of those lines could be cleaned up with a graver.A PC is not necessary to do good work, although it helps.Any of the Airgravers would be money well spent.Theres also nothing wrong with a hammer and chisel. Many of the worlds finest engravers use H&C.Pencil and paper drawing is also very important.Practice, practice, practice is what makes a good engraver, not a tool, book,or latest gizmo.Once again, nice rotary work
