Default War of 1812 sword engraving

My family has a sword we believe dates from the War of 1812 period. Though we can see what we believe to be the engraved name of the owner on the blade, but we cannot read it clearly due to the condition, script used, and tiny size of the letter.

Here are some photos of the sword & scabbard and a close up of the engraved name.

Can anyone please help us read the name?

Many Thanks!
