Engraved percussion revolvers pictures
Hi
I am posting many examples pulled from auction and other sites of engraved percussion revolvers by Nimschke, Gustave Young, and others, at my new percussion revolvers site http://www.percussionrevolvers.com/ nothing is for sale just posting pics for people to enjoy looking at or use as reference. I will be posting another thousand or so in the next few weeks Joel |

Re: Engraved percussion revolvers pictures
Greetings
I have spent the last few days adding pictures, a lot of Gustave Young and a few Nimschke engraved revolvers. I will be giving them their own sub section of the board to make them easier to find. Most of these are auction photo's but there are lot's of really good close-ups scattered around and some interesting variations Joel |

Re: Engraved percussion revolvers pictures
Joel,
One caveat about auction site descriptions of engraved guns. They often use incorrect descriptions of the style of engraving and misatribute the work. For instance there is a Navy on your site that was attributed to Nimschke but was clearly done by Young. To better understand different styles of engraving and the tools used click on the link under my signature to view my illustrated glossary. Roger

Re: Engraved percussion revolvers pictures
Hi Roger
I think also every engraved Colt is atributed to either Nimschke or Young regardless of who did it by many dealers. I have over 1,000 different revovlers I hope to post so if you see any mis attributed please, please, log in and post it. I am trying to do this as a resource for others so every little bit of additional help I can get is appreciated Joel |

Re: Engraved percussion revolvers pictures
Joel,
I registered on your site. To review your entire cashe of images and comment on the engraving may be a major undertaking but I may comment on something I see as a glaring error if I have the time. Regards, Roger
