Just to say Hi
I am new to the Hand Engraving arts. What made me interested was looking at an engraved pistol and I thought I would like to have mine look like it. I enjoy woodworking but not to sure of my artistic abilities. I'm just one to try it if I think there is a chance. Hope ya'll can put up with a few dumb questions along this learning time. Well, I not sure I know enough to know what question to ask!

Re: Just to say Hi
Welcome to the forum!
Browse around and you'll find a ton of great info. In the Tutorials section a member named AirAmp has a great 'getting started' tutorial, plus there are others scattered around. I know what you mean about artistic abilities - I've always said my drawing skills are such I'm a photographer, but check out Ron Smith's two books on Scroll Design - he breaks it down into small enough pieces it's slips right in. |
