Hello Friends,
I want to show tha last one work we made from Blade Show 2009, a fully carved folder in titanium 6al4v, first we have some WIP pics:

Aw Dude!

I was looking at all of the pictures, really enjoying the work and as I get down to the bottom you show the back side.

And at first I thought you did a great job working around the lock portion, then I quickly realized that was the clip.

Then I scroll down....

and you even sculpted the sides & bottom of the clip!


It's little touches like that that put a project over the top for me. I mean, with all of the work you did on the front you could have gotten away with just sculpting the top of the clip - heck, I bet a lot of people never even notice the little guy's teeth, but no, you took the time to do them for the few who do.

Hope I get to see this live at BLADE!

I have to admit that when I first saw you using burs to engrave I was a little iffy, but after seeing the finishes project I'm very impressed w what you can do w burs.

Extremely well done. If I had only seen the first layout, I wouldn't have thought it would be so nice. the progression is amazing. Nice work!! The clip is my favorite part.

My intention with the clip was to make a little dragon in the pocket.

PS, You are using a flexishaft motor right? I use a flexishaft everyday and I have changed positions quite a bit because of the strain on the wrist.
Be carefull with having a sideways pull on your wrist all the time cause it will catch up with you! For longtime work I like it best if the motor hangs in such a way that I only have to pull it in one way. So that would be behind me. I am looking around for a micro motor because those machines hardly give any pull on your wrist.

The front dragon takes to me 45/50 work hours, or a little more, during a few days.
Actually I'm using a pneumatic rotary tool (56K rpm), I've used a shaft and it not good to work with. thanks for your tips.

Realy good to know other ways of aproaching things.

|As for the rotary tool, I think I got hold of one of those. It looks the same.
Can't use it yet though because my compressor only alows it to run for 20 seconds.
What kind of compressor do you run it on? and at how many psi and liters per minute?

Hi Daniel,
It's a pleasure to me to share my way, and like very much to learn with the masters of this forum.
Our air compressor is a 12 fps, and our tools work in around 80/90 psi.
