I am not an engraver but came to this forum to learn something about the craft. I have a knife in progress that will be engraved and wanted to know a bit more about the possibilities as well as be able to speak the same language as the engraver. This looks like a good place. Should be fun.
Thanks everyone. Mark |

The more I read about engraving, the more interesting it gets. For a number of years I worked as an illustrator. That was over 20 years ago, back when we did things with pen and ink. When I see some of the work you guys do I ask myself if this might be something I would like to learn myself. I will keep reading and going through the forum here. Who knows what the future will bring?

Hi Mark,
With engraving, the drawing part is very important to be able to engrave well. So having been an ilustrator that part should be alright no? See here http://www.handengravingforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=17 if there is anyone near you to give a Lindsay airgraver a try and youll surely be hooked ![]() |
