Default Feathered Serpent tattoo machine frame

Here is a frame that I recently engraved. Waiting on parts then I will put it together, not sure if I will sell it or keep it. I guess once you engrave enough stuff, you don't get so attached to it.

Nice work Chapi
Just one thing, it seems that the serpent is breathing a lightning bolt wich is very cool. But there is the lightning bolt end at the back of its head.
That's the only thing that puzzles me. I think it pulls the design a bit apart.

Yes, Daniel, that was the main thing that bugged me too. I made the design for this frame, before I actually had it in hand. Originally, the back lightning bolt was curving down from the wing following the curve of the body, but then I got the frame, and there wasn't room. I should have skipped the back bolt, but I really wanted more inlay on this one, and so I sacrificed a little on the design so now it looks like its the same bolt that is coming out the mouth. Now I wait until I get the piece in hand before the design step is taken.

Great Job!! I still haven't had time to attack one of my machines. Will someday though. I agree with Daniel though, sometimes less is more. Keep it up. Killer!!!

I think the composition is ok. Not perfect but enough to give the impression the dragon is trying to take a bite of the lightning bolt. Works for me.

I like this kind of work. Seems spontaneous, fun.

really nice, someone has asked me a few questions about some frames for him, he makes all his own machines, old school stuff,

http://colincreedtattoomachines.blogspot.com.au/

and the question is he uses mild steel ion the frame, and treats it after assembly prior to mounting coils, he is loath to change his frame recipe with used the steel to generate a field or something.. SO. if he finished a steel one, and i engrave via hand or cnc, how can we treat the metal to stop it rusting?

regards
CHris
