Can anyone tell the model of this ball vise?

I recently bought an old vintage ball vise via CL that being shipped to me.

I was told it operates smooth as butter... but he could not find any manufacturers marks.

Can anyone tell if this is worth the $200. I spent? Or is it just an old Chinese made one.

I cant tell you the vise... but the way the pin jaws form a step at the other jaws should be a pretty good clue to distinguish this guy..

Thanks for the reply.. Ah So you're saying when I get it I should take closer and more detailed, profile images to share? To make sure I understand your comment am I correct in that like some vintage ones I've seen like this ECHARCO brand (see picture) that if the top pin jaws meet flush and there's a gap in between the two lower ones.. that's a good thing? Kind of new here grabbing in the dark.

No.. if you look at the latest vise that you posted , look at how the back of the pin attachment is pretty much the same profile as the closing jaws below it (gap nitwithstanding)... behind your pins in the first picture,you see there is a ledge, where the closing jaws ar much wider than the pin plate.

Relax. It might be fine. Clean it up and fresh lubricant on the obvious parts. That's really going to tell the story. There's commonly a set screw on the bottom half that can be tightened to lock it so it doesn't turn, or less firmly tightened will create some degree of drag. Check for this so you're not thinking it doesn't spin as easily as you might want, when it's just the drag adjustment.

Worst case, put it back up for sale and recoup your money.

No. It’s not that that has any bearing on its function.
I was just pointing out a distinction in the vise that help lead you to the manufacture.
It’s nice to have that smooth rotation. But I work mostly on a turntable, so I disable the rotation altogether on my ball vise. Kind of a waste, but the functionality is way better.
