Default 1st larger piece

I have so very much practicing to do but I'm venturing into uncharted territory and working on something a bit bigger.

This is a 1/2" thick piece of 1018 steel measuring 4" x 9" that I polished through 8 grades of silicon carbide paper and dug into sort of freehand.

I'm having fun with it but my engraving technique is way behind my drawing skill. Only one thing for that - practice!

Thanks

I'm having fun with it. My hands keep rubbing off the Sharpie ink. I need some sort of medium that is a bit more permanent to put my drawing down with.

Draw it on then scribe over the sharpie lines.

My problem is that my hand rubs off the sharpie as I'm scribing or engraving or whatever.

Hi,

You can also use some fixative spray...
