Folks, the following is a press release sent to the knife publications. Some of you have expressed an interest in less-expensive knives that might be suitible for practicing working on knives. These certainly fall in that category.

Announcing the release and availability of a new factory production knife from Don Cowles, the “Ruby Shortcut”.

Specifications:

Length: Overall 5 5/8”; blade 2 ¾”
Blade material: 10Cr17 stainless steel at RC56
Scales: Natural bone over tapered tang with brass
pins
Bolsters: Dovetailed 416 stainless steel
Embellishment: Ruby in 14K gold in ricasso
Sheath: Hand-stitched waxed cowhide lined with pigskin. Attached pocket clip and rare earth magnet

These knives are top-quality production pieces, each inspected and hand-tuned by custom knifemaker Don Cowles. Available now at $99 each.
