Welcome aboard!
You should have a few good engravers in the southeast part of our lovely state, which i envy, i am out in Bethel, all alone as an engraver. This forum is a good place to learn and ask, and read and find inspiration. there is a lot of gifted talented people who share freely it is a great place to be.

Welcome Frank. I have worked and played in about 10 different locations in Alaska from Kodiak to Shemya to Barrow to Yakutat but Kake is a new one on me. I got my start with wood carving many years ago but had the great fortune to live for a short time next to a German trained engraver which is how I got started gun engraving. Good luck on your journey learning this great art/craft.
