First scrimshaw project.
I was visiting my friend, knife maker Randy Haas yesterday.I was asking him about scrimshaw and he whipped out his scrim kit. I figured i would give it a go and here is my first attempt. It is on a 3x1.25 piece of fossil mammoth.
What do you guys think?

Re: First scrimshaw project.
Thank you for the kind words!!! Yes, first time. I ended up buying a bit of scrap ivory cutoffs to practice on. I am currently in mid process of my second one, and will be doing some pendants for people. I think it is great fun and plan to continue doing this for a long time!!!!
