Another new one from Downunder
Have been lurking for a couple of weeks now, so I thought that I should introduce myself.
I am a rank newbie to engraving but I have been most fortunate. I signed up to the forum one morning and came across a member that was selling his PC. After contacting him I found that not only did he live in Australia, but in the same city, not 45 minutes from home. Unbelievable !! Go round the world to find someone in your own back yard. Anyway, I am now the proud owner of one of the most brilliant pieces of fine engineering that I have seen. I moonlight as a dentist during my spare time so have a little experience with fine equipment - hope I can learn to use the PC with some minor degree of the excellence shown within this site. My other hobbies include gundogs and shotguns (mainly Skeet and Simulated Field), and one of my goals is to remodel one of my tired old guns, but that will be a fair time off. Will keep the forum posted as the journey continues. Regards, Weisone |

Welcome weisone, nice stylized pointer in your thumbnail. Is it cast, forged, or what?

Re: Another new one from Downunder
Thanks Gail for the welcome.
I was trying to design a logo for use with my little sideline hobbies, a lot of which centre around my favorite gundog - the Weimaraner. I used Macromedia Freehand for the basic shape and then manipulated the image in MM Fireworks, trying to get a metallic look. Still learning. Regards, Weisone |

Re: Another new one from Downunder
Wiseone, well, it fooled me, easy to do....however, you did a great job of making it look metallic. Your artistic skill should make engraving a lot of fun for you.:yesnod:
