Your work is always outstanding Phil. On this particular piece it appears as though gold was inlaid into a black metal of some sort instead of background having been removed and blackened. What is the size of this piece?
Thanks for showing,
Gene

It's about 3.5 inches long.
It's steel,Richard St.Ledger coloured it, I think he heated it up in salt!

Gee wiz Phil

Just when I start to get arrogant and cocky you have to go and post something like this and ruin it all for me.:smilie5:

Very nicely done. Great job with the choices on the color arrangement as well as the design and cutting,

Ray

Beautiful piece Phil, and so rich in color!
Do you recall how many metals/alloys you used on this medallion?
I'm working on developing a color palette for a gun project and any recommendations you have would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Tim

Thank you Phil,

I love the effect you achieve with the mix.
Also, I can appreciate how labor intensive this can be.
I hope my efforts turn out as nice.

Thanks again,
Tim

Like Ray says, just when you think you are doing pretty good along comes a masterpiece to put you in your place. Mine seems to be twards the bottom of the heap right now. Good job Phil.
