Newbie in PA

[Flinchlock]

Hello everyone. Although I have been practicing engraving for the past few months its still new and a challenge. I build and restore flintlocks mostly for myself. I decided several months ago that I needed to add some engraving to the metal work and I'm enjoying it tremendously. I am far from a professional but the work I do is pleasing to me.

I started out with a push graver and stepped up to a MagnaGraver that runs off my flexshaft. I guess my next step, if I feel I can get good enough, may be an air graver. I am really looking forward to going through some of the tutorials on the site and hope to pick up some tips from the experts.

And, I'm really looking forward to receiving my new sharpening templates I ordered today. Sharpening my gravers has probably been my biggest challenge and I expect the templates will greatly simplify the process.

This is a really nice site and I'm glad to be on-board.

The Lindsay sharpening system puts sharpening the gravers in the no brainer category. It is simply that easy to use and the results are fantastic. I am still learning also and this is the site that will definitely help. The people here are super helpful.
