Default Photos from afield

Thought you might like to see a few pics from my travels the last two weeks. First I went to Japan, then Waikiki and then into the Bob Marshal Wilderness to pack and guide an Elk hunt for a couple of days.

Waikiki...

My friend Vyka, from Lithuania...

While I was photographing Vyka on the beach at Waikiki, I recieved a phone call asking me to guide in the Bob Marshal wilderness, and so when I got off the plane in Kalispell, I got on a horse...

By the time I rode in, they had two elk, one taken on this slide.

Packing out the rack...

Inside the cook tent...

A view into Lick basin, riding out.

This is Cameron and I, he is a very good guide, he got two six by sixes in one week.

Looks like you had a good time Barry but I think that I would have stuck around and entertained Vyka instead of going and guiding some yahoo's looking for elk. Just my thoughts.:D

That must have been a great trip....quite a difference in geography and cultures. I think Kulley's suggestion made a lot of sense!

Thanks for showing the pictures.

we were heading into lick basin, and we bumped into a boar Griz which had been feeding on an elk carcass. I hollered at it, it stood, looked us over and ran off. When we headed through the brush in the pic five min later I kept a careful eye for any movement in the bushes...

Once were were in lick we found a nice wallow, and went all the way to the lake.

the next day we found another wallow, and more griz sign...

After a week of hard hunting we had four bulls of various sizes to pack out for a party of six hunters, not a bad percentage...

The next week I went Antelope hunting, October 7, and got this little buck through both shoulders at 260 paces...

Say, when you were hunting, did you bring your PC? You could have added engraving to the hunters rifle while you were all together in the cook tent.
(Wouldn't want to waste all that "off time" just sittin around talking and telling tall stores would ya?)

Just kiddin, Looks like a really great trip overall. You have a nice balanced life. Can't ask for more.

OK I'll ask what the others won't - Does Vyka do engraving, and if so what kind?

It appears that in addition to your considerable engraving skills, you have good taste in hats and other things. :D

So I think you are having way too much fun and should be home doing more engraving. You make the rest of us jealous. Just kidding, Hope you had a good trip.
