Default Hello from New York

Hello, my name is Michael Ayzman. I have been working in the jewelry business for more than 20 years. But truth be told, I don’t know whether I’m more of an engraver, a setter, a jeweler, a model-maker. But foremost, I try to be an artist.
I was born and raised in Eastern Europe. Ever since that childhood, I’ve been interested in studying the history of art and funneling it into a design filled with creativity. What really helped me for my future career and that stayed with me until the present day, was the advice of my first teacher. He was a master hand engraver that utilized older, more traditional skills when it came to engraving. He presented me with a “philosophy of mastery” that sounded something like: “Always try your best, it’ll turn out bad by itself”.
After, a long period of intense learning, I moved to the United States with my family. After that, America became my second home and has been so for the past 15 years. Here, I had learned far more than I would have imagined and new concepts appeared before me. Over my entire professional career here, I developed particular specializations in different aspects of jewelry.
Thanks
Michael

Welcome to our Forum! What wonderful talents you display in your album.
To show you have done Faberge restoration speaks volumes about your 'particular specialisations'.
