Default Scrimshaw / Native American

Hello - Was wondering if someone could help identify who the native american is on the scrimshaw piece? I believe the artist who did the work was Jake Schmidt from Peoria, IL and was done sometime in the 70's. Any other info you may know about the piece would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!

You might contact Jake. He is still in Peoria. He could probably tell you right away.

My guess would be Red Coud or Sitting Bull.
