My first Harley derby cover..
It´s a little embarrassing to have this great Nitro G20 AirGraver for so many years (I think I bought it in 2012) but have almost not used it at all.. due to many reasons.. anyway, I finally had the chance to start over after moving to Spain, just outside Barcelona, and I´m starting my first Harley derby cover..
I bought it with the intension to engrave motorcycle parts, as I do a lot of leather craft, pinstriping, gold leaf etc for custom motorcycles.. At this point, I´m testing out different sharpening, and trying to find a rhythm and learn. Anyway, here is my first derby cover.. and the first time I been able in years to try the engraver again.. bare with me :-) and for sure, this is not finished.. lots of metal digging left on this one :-) For sure, I´m a total newbie, but I enjoy it a lot, it´s pure fun! Anyway, if anyone see some obvious mistakes, or ideas to improve out of these pictures, feel free to say! :-) I want to learn more!

Re: My first Harley derby cover..
Thanks a lot guys! :-) Good to see you are still here Engraver :-) I´m really happy to finally getting into it again.. and can slowly learn! :-) Even tho I had it for years without been able to use it, I never regret I bought it. It´s like having a piece of gold in the drawer, but now it´s out and ready to shine :-)
I did a few lines from a tattoo motive some years ago for my friends bobber build. A brass back fender which we treated with some oxide after.. not so easy to see, but.. Here is the sharpening templates I have available, to experiment with :-) Got to go three weeks to Norway, but hope to update soon :-)

Re: My first Harley derby cover..
Hi 276ccm
I too had a similar start when I started. You are already doing great work first by modifying and building and fabricating motor bikes, which is not easy. Then now you will engrave some parts in some even maybe the whole engine an other parts, this will be time consuming but the pay will be a lot more good. You have loads of talent.I seen your face book page, love the bikes and the leather seats when I get a good wallet I will send it to you. Have a nice trip. SE

Re: My first Harley derby cover..
A little update for my engraving.. :-)
A good friend of mine, made me a handmade chisel, fitting the blanks for my AirGraver.. :-) And here a little youtube video of the tool in use: https://youtu.be/rnGdiDm9g2I It´s the first time I tried a hammer and chisel, but it was really fun! :-)
