10 Bore Purdey Style Double Rifle Build LH Maple RH Walnut
I just finished building these two 10 Bore Purdey Style Double Rifles:
I did a fully video documentation of the builds, if you are interested in watching them you can view them here: http://stolzergunsmithing.wordpress.com/ Just scroll down until you find part 1. Also one of the videos talks a great deal about engraving and my preference for Lindsay tools(never hurt to help promote Steve's Business). The left handed Maple stocked rifle: More Pictures can be seen here including more engraving: http://s269.photobucket.com/user/cst...20Maple?sort=9 The right handed walnut stocked rifle: More pictures of this one can be seen here:http://s269.photobucket.com/user/cst...0Walnut?sort=9 Both rifles weigh around 13.5 pounds. Both have 26" Barrels, both are iron mounted furniture, both are oil finished and Semi-Flattop Checkered. Both are regulated for 50 yards, 250grs FFg Goex and Patched Roundball. The maple stocked rifle is Rust Blued with CCH Locks, Hammers and Tang. The walnut stocked rifle is Rust Browned with CCH Locks and Hammers. Thanks for Looking, Colin

Beautiful craftsmanship. I would guess that the 13.5 pounds keeps the recoil in check-kind of HA HA- Fred
