Hobo nickels
Here are a couple hobo nickels I just finished.
The first is a classic Hobo with gold hat band and scroll trim. The other one is my favorite. Its based on a print by one of my favorite printmakers (MC Escher). The skull reflection in the human eye has a profound symbolism. Every person eventually has to look at their own mortality and deal with it. This carving depicts that concept. Each eye lash around the eye was individually carved. It took a long time and got pretty monotonous The work was done with the airgraver, rotary burs and various hand tools. Ray |

Re: Hobo nickels
Great looking nickels. Working on another of your classes. Got your video on inlaying and have been practicing, not as easy as you make it look. Obviously need some more one on one. Say hello to the family.
