Default Grumpy Toad katakiri-bori

Hey guys.
I recently finished this chasaji (tea-scoop) in iron, 115mm long. Belly in pure silver nunome zogan (koftgari). Rust patina finish
The engraving is katakiri-bori which emulates sumi ink painting, one of my favorite engraving techniques.

Very nice Jim! The Grumpy really comes through!
I also really enjoyed your other post on the subject. Thanks for sharing it.
I am interested in learning more about katakiribori. Who do you see as the modern masters of this style of engraving in Japan?
Might as well take advantage of being over here.

Thanks for your comments guys. I actually don't know of anyone that skilled at it in Japan. Not to imply they don't exist but my teacher is now 88 years old and has no students. There is certainly a lot going on there that I don't know about.

If you get to Kyoto you should visit the Kitomizu-Sannenzaka Museum. They always have some fantastic metalwork on display and sometimes special exhibits.
